I found out I really don't know what DIY Cardstock Is. Would you explain what it is to me.. The other questions I had from surfing the net this morning, what is "RM 2.90 Cardstock" and what is the meaning of " Cardstock of 220gsm"?. I am asking these questions because I would like to try to get this material and test it out for myself on my Silhouette Cameo cutter. I would appreciate any help you can offer me here... I have a Silhouette Cameo and have been experimenting with what works best for making rhinestone templates. Thank you for the information you have shared on here about using card stock with the plastic coating. I was using card stock without a plastic coating and found that my Cameo was chewing up the card stock. Thank you again for sharing. I've never purchased the rhinestone starter kit but I have purchase rhinestone designs from the Silhouette store before so I suspect it should work the same way. I can't think of why you might be encountering this problem as I've never encountered it myself. I have a few suggestions of what you can try:
1. Try dragging and dropping the designs onto an empty New silhouette page
2. Reinstall the starter kit and quit and restart the SIlhouette program
3. Check for SIlhouette software update

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Thank you for your question...Dear MamadeLovesMAC,

Thank you for your question. For the sticky transfer paper, I bought some from a shop that specialises in Rhinestone designs and another shop that does T-shirt printing. However, I doubt that information would be very useful to you as you would have to really go out and search for these specialist shops. One suggestion I have, which also depends on where you live to an extent, is to do a search on Amazon / Ebay something of that equivalent.

If you search for "Transfer Paper" / "Transfer Film" / "Motif Transfer Paper" / "Sticky Transfer Paper", a few suitable products will appear. I've searched both on amazon uk and amazon us, and both searches were successful.
Also, these transfer papers are reusable so you can buy less :)

One note about the card technique, if possible, try to get cardstock that has a smooth (plastic-type) surface especially if your transfer paper is very sticky. [You know the folders that you normally get from conferences? The ones that feel like paper but has a smooth surface? That's the type of cardstock that works the best] I had two types of transfer paper. With the less sticky one, using the regular cardstock was fine but with the stickier one, sometimes when I try to peel off the transfer paper, bits of the paper rips and sticks onto the transfer paper which can be quite disastrous.

Hope this helps!! :) Mimshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12073163240286931068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7732042750127896455.post-41405704773989286752014-02-10T20:43:04.805-08:002014-02-10T20:43:04.805-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Mimshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12073163240286931068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7732042750127896455.post-66666031208073291912014-02-10T13:54:30.622-08:002014-02-10T13:54:30.622-08:00I am about to purchase my Cameo and found your sit...I am about to purchase my Cameo and found your site when searching for alternatives to the expensive add on kits. I love your suggestion of the cardstock and how to get the rhinestones in. My question is what do you use for the sticky transfer paper? Do you use Silhouette's or do you have a cheaper alternative? Since I see that the transfer paper you keep in place when ironing, I know it must be something heat tolerant. I recently bought the rhinestone starter kit and successfully got the designs to download to my account. Now when I try to add them to my account by clicking on the design (for example the letter 'k'), it will automatically bring me back to "Browse All Designs". I have tried everything, but I can't figure out how to get the downloads into the actual 'My Downloads' in the Silhouette Studio so I can attempt to create the transfers. Have any suggestions for me? This isnt a specific setting in the cameo but you need to simply create circular holes of the correct size to hold the Rhinestones in place - you can create these manually using a circle that is slightly larger than the required rhinestone. There are a number of free templates about or you can buy rhinestone templates from the online store - simply filter the search using the appropriate selection option.

For Mims thanks for the fab information on making your own template material!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7732042750127896455.post-60481172305903977142013-09-13T15:29:13.060-07:002013-09-13T15:29:13.060-07:00CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT SETTINGS WILL MAKE THE RHI...CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT SETTINGS WILL MAKE THE RHINESTONE HOLESAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7732042750127896455.post-14729240649690890612013-09-13T15:27:54.948-07:002013-09-13T15:27:54.948-07:00iHAVE THE CAMEO,MY QUESTION IS WHEN I CREATE THE A...iHAVE THE CAMEO,MY QUESTION IS WHEN I CREATE THE ART WORK WHAT DO OR HOW DO I GET THE HOLES IN THE PAPER I HAVE TRIED ALL THE SETTINGS I KNOW
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7732042750127896455.post-47488491806527225032013-09-11T23:02:59.590-07:002013-09-11T23:02:59.590-07:00Patience is really very important when you are wor...Patience is really very important when you are working on this project.
